Our yarns are 100% wool.
Navajo Churro is the major component, together with hard luster wool and mohair. Navajo Churro was chosen for its staple length, superior dye affinity, and because we support the raising of sheep using traditional pastoral practices. Hard luster wool and mohair were chosen for their luster and strength. The component wools are brought together as combed tops and blended in the UK. This blend is designed to suite a broad range of carpet restoration uses, be easy to work with, and have the luster and color saturation of the materials found in older carpets.
Our yarns are skein-dyed in the USA by a family business using “best practice” acid-leveling dyes in small lots. Our dyers have generations of experience in dyeing woolen-yarns specifically for the carpet industry and have adapted their practice to our specific needs.
We also occasionally offer small quantities of colors dyed with natural dyestuffs (botanical and insect).
